On Saturday July 25,2009, the W.S.Y.S.A. will be holding its largest fund-raiser of the year, The West Springfield Youth Sports Association, Gilbert E. Doe Sr. & Kenneth L. Mattoon Sr. Memorial Golf Tournament. The golf tournament will be held at Westover Golf Course followed by a dinner catered by Partner’s Restaurant served at the Dante Club. The cost of the tournament is $95.00 per player and includes the greens fee, cart, lunch, prizes, and a Prime Rib or Baked Scrod dinner. This is a scramble format allowing men, women, and mixed foursomes.

Shotgun start at 12:30 pm. Lunch will be served starting at 1l: 00am. Once again this year, Gold ($100) and Silver ($50) sponsorships are available. In addition to supporting the youth of West Springfield, a gold sponsorship entitles the contributor to individual signage on the course (tee or green). Silver sponsors will be recognized on the "Silver Sponsor" board. All sponsors and donors will be acknowledged in the dinner program and local publications.

This year’s tournament is honoring  John “Chuck” Meader.
